The Ladybugs

This spring I had to raise some ladybugs! It was amazing to watch them! It really was!

When they came in the mail, they had already hatched from eggs to larva. We put them into the ladybug dome with their food crystals. Which was ground up mealworms. We watched them for about a week as they slowly grew and grew. They ate a lot and molted many times. When they molted they were white and got kind of bigger. Then they turned black with a few red spots. In larval form, they looked a little like alligators and kind of walked like swimming alligators.

After they were larvae, they turned into pupae. They went to spot in the habitat, attached their little butts with a little string, burst out of the larval shell and curled into a ball. Then after 5 days, the lady bug burst out of the pupa just like the pupa burst out of the larva! We fed them golden raisins. What we didn't realize was that, they ate all the good stuff out of the raisins and on the day we were going to release them, one ladybug ate one of the others! They all started to run from each other!

My ladybugs were pink ladybugs that were really pretty. They had 12 spots and no white spots above their heads like most ladybugs do.

My Dogs

Sirius Black, my puppy dog, is 9 months old. He likes to play a lot. Sirius Black is, well, black of course. He is also brown and gray. Sirius likes to lick a lot. Sirius Black is cute. If you look in his eyes completely, you will see the cuteness forever and that's what happened to me!

Now time to talk about Max. Max is a very big dog. He's forgotten how to play fetch, which he knew for a very long time. He kind of knows how to stand up pretty. He is a black and white springer spaniel with freckles on his legs.

Pascal is an old dog. He is 12 years old! He has brown on the bottom and black on the top. He does not play. When you give him a bone, he'll only eat it when he wants it. He is also a little bit chubby.

My Cats

My name is Evie. I have cats and dogs galore. Right now we are teaching you about my cats!

Cheesy, my cat, is playful. He barely even grabs you and he can't lean up much to bite your hand because he's too fat and heavy. Cheesy is fat, looks a lot like Garfield. He is all Garfield - heehee. He is orange-yellow with greenish eyes.

My cat Sprigan is quite shy. She doesn't like playing with too many people. Sprigan is grey on top and white underneath. She is very fluffy. Sprigan is very small.

Vesper hates it when my puppy barks at her. She is completely grey with light gray polka-dots. She's also quite small. She is soft, but not as furry as Sprigan.

Sprite is fat, but less fat than Cheesy. He is completely black with green eyes, like all our cats. He has short hair. He fights with Cheesy. Sprite likes it when Vesper gives him a bath. Sprite likes to roll in the dust and sleep in the sunshine. And he munches on grass like cheesy.
